When it comes to tools of advertising, advertisers have various choices. Broadcast media, print media, outdoor media, mobile and internet media (latest ones) etc are examples of various advertising channels used by brand owners to promote their products in the market place. Advertising is an ongoing process that never comes to a halt. However, brand owners have complete control to launch their ad campaigns through a preferred media. Hence, according to one’s choice, an ad campaign can be launched through television advertising or through an outdoor advertising. Television advertising,radio advertising,outdoor advertising,airport advertising,print advertising etc are some advertising tools that suit every brand promotion activity.
Print and outdoor media are synonymous with the oldest modes of brand advertising. Television was later launched as another medium of advertising. The launch of television media changed the overall facet of advertising. Brand commercials became exciting and interesting through television media. Providing audio-visual impact to target audiences, television media soon emerged as one of the most effective channels to reach out to customers. Since, then, this advertising media is ruling the roost amongst the top three mediums of brand advertising.
In due course of time, brand advertising methods and tools have gone through drastic changes and development. Launch of new media –especially mobile and internet media as advertising options, transformation of conventional tools of advertising (especially outdoor ones), technologically enriched techniques etc mark the era of new-age advertising. Today’s advertising trends are completely evolved and refined from conventional ones. Advertisers also have multiple choices of advertising media to launch their promotion campaigns. Modern advertisers have added advantages when it comes to launching a promotion campaign for their brands. Besides, it takes minimum time for advertiser to present his brand message in today’s technologically enriched ad world. Thanks to technology, thanks to those innovators who have created such landmark in brand advertising. Brand owners keep in touch with their target customers through a particular media channel or through multiple channels of advertising. In order to effectively deliver the brand message, the advertiser ensures that the campaign is launched through one such media that is easily accessible by customers. For example, television advertising is an effective mode of communicating with customers. Everyone is fond of watching television. The brand commercials make people’s television watching experience more interesting. There is a notion (which is infact true) that a school going kid finds it hard to remember his or her poem but when it comes to a brand jingle or anthem, the kid memorizes every single word, every single line and yes with musical effects as well. The famous brand jingle of Britannia – ting ting ting ting, the ever popular slogan of Mc Donald’s -I m lovin’ it and many more brand jingles and slogans are easily memorized by audiences irrespective of caste, creed, gender and age group. Each of the advertising media plays significant roles to differentiate all the brands and to memorize any slogan or jingle related with them.
Many new brands are emerging in the market for which many new advertising campaigns will be launched from time to time. The role of advertising media will further keep on increasing with the escalating demand for more and more advertising campaigns. The only suggestion to advertisers is to maintain the ethos of advertising and to frame unique brand messages and launch them through the most reachable channel for audiences. Advertising is meant to be an interesting field as well as practice of brand marketing. Hence, advertisers should ensure that they give their best to provide customers something new, different and original. An ordinary ad campaign most often fails to win customers’ favour. So, it is a must and a necessity to launch a unique ad campaign about any brand that is meant to be advertised.
