How Does the Playstation Move Work

The Playstation Move is a modern state of the art motion sensor device which is placed within a game controller for use with the Playstation 3. Designed by Sony Entertainment, the Move has fast become of the best known free motion controllers on the video game market. 
This controller uses Bluetooth wireless communication to enable a sense of free movement. The controller uses a lithium-ion battery so it never runs out of power. The primary component to the Move is the Wand controller. The motion controller has an orb attached at the end of it. The orb can and will glow an entire range of colors which tell the controller what environment the player is in. This light acts as an active marker which follows an image along the plane of game play. The light’s depth and size allows the controller to gauge a good estimation of how far away the player is from the controller base. 
The rotation of the sphere is tracked by a set of internal sensors inside the main controller. They are aligned in the form of an axis which follows the movements of the ball thus relaying the movement back to the console for the game to interpret. 
The controller has a serious of buttons on it. The main button is ovoid in shape and followed by the typical Playstation action buttons; the green triangle, the red circle, the blue X and the pink square. There is also a Start, Select, Home and Move button on the Playstation Move. This makes eight buttons in total. 
The Move can also be used as a BluRay Player remote control. In combination, these orbs and their various colors in conjecture with the motion controller relays inside can be tracked by the Playstation Eye. All this communicates back to the PlayStation itself so that the moves, actions and button commands can be translated into the game. 
The navigation controller is also an added extra which works in unison with the Move controller. This controller allows a player to replicate the functionality of a standard Playstation wireless controller. 
The Move is a very stylish and unique controller. At first it can be a bit off putting but in time once you have used it with simpler Playstation Move games you should be able to move on to more complex games in little to no time at all.
